Today was the day! Little E's first day of "school." She was so excited in this picture...helped me decorate her lunch bag...loves her new shoes and socks...and was filled with anticipation about what color the play dough would be today.
I decided to send her to a little church day school 2 days a week for 3 hours at a time. She is leaning towards being a little clingy...and I think this is best for her. Was worried that she was too young....but, she isn't. She is one of the only kids I know who hasn't been to some sort of organized educational setting without Mom. So, I signed her up.
It is a great little school...with a curriculum, wonderful teachers, a fun playground...and so many more cool things for kids.
As we drove there...she was 100% excited. As we approached the school...her tone changed....quick!
She grabbed onto my leg...held tight and was crying pretty hard. I just gave her a kiss...said I would be back to get her and left it at that.
I was waiting for the "Mom of the Year" nomination committee to take my entry form and remove me from the running when I walked out of the class room. I didn't cry...I wasn't sad....but, I did want her to stop crying. And, she did.
My 3 hours of "freedom" were filled with walking a 10 week old puppy 3 times, picking up dog poop, a load of laundry, playing with the dog, and before I knew it...it was time to go and pick her up.
She loved it...cried a little during the day....but, all in all...she did way better than expected.
Happy first day of "school" :)
Oh my word...I don't think she could be any cuter!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad she had a good first day!
I love her little lunch bag. So Allison!
ReplyDeleteGreat Job Alli, I know you joke about it sometimes but you are an excellent wife and mom. We are our own worse critics so I know that you probably think you have room from improvement. From my point of view you do a great job. Shorty & Emma are blessed to have you. ;o)
