I kinda get it....i guess.....

Back in the days before I had a kid...I never understood what the fuss was about.  I mean, I knew I wanted a baby...but, I never got all googly over them. I would ooh and ahh at my friend's baby showers.....as I wondered what time the champagne punch would be served.

Well...then my life changed....I had Little E and then I KNEW what all the fuss was about.  Sharing stories about your kids...who's birth story was more traumatic, who was where on the growth charts, and the ever important milestone "races."

People come up to you in the grocery store....talk to your children, gooh and gaah at them.

Then, I got it.  But, I NEVER understood the thing about dogs.  I had dogs as a child...but I was never the "financial owner" of one.  If that makes sense....

Seems as if dogs have the same effect on some people as babies.  That one...I still don't get.

I am LOVING our new dog..."Doodle" and she is loving us.  But, I fail to understand how a 4 legged animal can make someone talk to you.  Someone who has only spoken 3 words to you in the past.

Seems as if Doodle is our new social barrier breaker in the neighborhood.  People who have hardly acknowledged our existence now think we are best friends.  All because of a dog.

I am sure the longer we have Doodle...the more I will understand.  Some people just need a "common ground" to find conversation in.  Seems as if dogs and babies fit that mold.

Have I ever told you how big Little E was when she was born?  Did I tell you about how well my dog sleeps?  Did you know that Little E is in the 12th% for her weight and 95th% for her height?  Did you know that Doodle weighs 12.1 pounds?  Did I tell you about her trip to the vet yesterday?  Did you know that my rugrat can say the entire alphabet without missing a beat?  Did you know my 10 week old dog is a member of puppy Mensa?

I think you get my point.  ;)  I love babies....and dogs.

  1. " I love little baby ducks,
    old pick up trucks,
    slow moving trains,
    and rain.
    I love little country streams,
    sleep without dreams,
    Sunday school in May...and hay.
And I Love You too !"
